FAQ
1. What is Calcium Montmorillonite?
California Earth Minerals calcium monmorilloniteis a human grade nutritional edible clay. 2. Where does it come from?
Southern California in the Colorado river delta.
3. How did the clay get there?
Throughout the world, micro nutrient minerals are locked into the earths crust. In the western U.S. rocky mountain states, the minerals that are located on the surface, are transported by water via streams and waterways that end up in the Colorado River. The river pushes, mixes, and grinds the mineral particles to a finer and finer size and deposits this dust like material in sheets of roily turbid water. The dry and windy desert climate evaporates the water to lock in layer after layer of clay. Over the millenniums, this process is repeated every three to five hundred years in the western US.
4. What is the importance of particle size?
Usually the finer the particle size, the higher the absorbability and the larger the surface area per gram or any unit of measurement
5. What is the average particle size of our clay?
10 microns or less and is some is even measured in angstroms, (one ten billionth of a meter).
6. What is a micron?
One millionth of a meter; to give that some relative size, a human hair is about 75 microns in diameter. Most of the clay in TERRAMIN is smaller than a germ. In fact, how it kills germs is by surrounding it with clay platelets and separating that germ from its nutrient source; thus it dies
.
7. What are some of the different clays throughout the world.
There are several groups of industrial clays, such as clay to make bricks, pottery, shoe polish, cat litter, dynamite, etc. Even though they may look alike, they vary vastly in particle size, chemical composition, structurally, actions, and have nothing in common. Even within the same family of clays, there are no two deposits alike. The “edible” nutritional clays are a very rare form of dietary clays that provide the body with nutrients in the form of macro, micro and trace mineral elements, such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, silica, copper, etc.
8. What is the shape of calcium montmorillonite and why is it important?
The shape is similar to a sheet of paper, large flat surface with a very thin edge. The flat surface carries the powerful negative charge and the thin edge holds the positive charge. This shape has the highest surface area volume to weight or mass of any shape in nature, a sphere is the smallest
9 Do we sell in bulk?
Yes, we sell to formulators, tabletizers, nutraceuticals, cosmetics companies and various other distributors and companies that repackage and blend our products with herbs, vitamins, other minerals, for things like dietary supplements, tablets, capsules, toothpaste, pet foods, cosmetics, etc.
10 Do we have wholesale dealer programs?
Yes; to become a dealer is easy. The information is on the website under “How to Be Come a Dealer”, non-stocking and stocking both. The company also offers a distributor level plan for larger quantities.
